Do I need to book an appointment?
At Dolly Blue we want to make sure every bride feels special, taken care of and, most importantly, never rushed. Therefore, we always work by an appointment only basis so that each bride can enjoy the exclusive studio space we’ve created with their friends and family.
Making booking your appointment easier than ever, our new website includes an online booking service, allowing you to choose a slot that suits your schedule. If you just can’t wait to try on your dream dress at DB but don’t see an appointment time that you can make, feel free to drop us an email at [email protected] and we will do our best to accommodate! 🙂
When should I book my first appointment?
Once you’ve really enjoyed celebrating your engagement, it’s time to start the search for ‘the dress’!
Around a year before your wedding date is a great time to start looking, this gives you plenty of time to try, find and get your dress perfectly fitted without any of the stress. If you are more tight for time, then we do sell some sample dresses, ‘straight off the peg’. We won’t need to order these dresses in, so will allow you to find your dream dress on a much shorter timescale. Perfect for the more last-minute bride!
Allowing yourself plenty of time ensures the process is calm, stress-free and, most importantly, fun.
Is there a booking fee for appointments?
Your first bridal consultation has a booking fee of £10 to ensure that bookings made are followed through and will secure you a private slot with Jess and the team. If you need to cancel your appointment then you will be automatically refunded as long as you cancel at least 48 hours prior to your appointment.
Should you need to come in for a second appointment, no booking fee is required!
Can I make changes to a dress design?
Of course! At Dolly Blue we want to make sure that your dress is unique to you, so changes to the sleeves, train, necklines etc, can be made. Some changes may not always be possible, however, we will do our very best to make it happen.
What do I Bring to my appointment?
If you can, please try to bring nude seamless underwear. No need to bring any heels with you, there will be a raised platform for you to stand on during the appointment, as well as plenty of heels in the studio should you feel you need to try some on with the dresses.
Having a rough idea of what you’re looking for would be helpful in initially allowing us to get a sense of what you’re looking for- but don’t worry if you’re unsure, we will take you through a variety of different styles until you find the one!
We politly request that you please wear minimal fake tan and makeup to your appointment when trying on our beautiful dresses. Thank you!
How many people can I bring?
We can accommodate yourself and a maximum of 4 VIP’s.
We recommend only bringing your closest family and friends. Whilst you may want to include everyone, the more people means more differing opinions and can be confusing and overwhelming for the bride!
What are the price ponit of your dresses?
Our dresses range from £1,500 – £3,500.
You carry the designer I love but not their dress I want- Can I still get it?
While we can’t carry the entire collection from each of our designers, we can sometimes have the ability to request a particular smaple or have you try on something similar to ensure the perfect fit and order the dress for you.

What payment do you require for my dress to be ordered?
A deposit of 50% of the dress is due when you first choose your dress at the first appointment and the remaining balance will be taken at your first fitting appointment.
Will my dress need alterations?
Yes. All of our dresses are made to order and whilst we take measurements of your body, dresses are not made to your exact measurements- they are made to size/split size. When your dress arrives, we will get in contact with you to arranfe a first fitting appointment.
All alterations are provided in house by our talented seamstresses, so no need to worry, just sit back and let us do the work!
